Why: 2025 marks 15 years of African Road! That means 15 years of long-term partnership, of community-led change and impact, of transformative work and JOY alongside the Changemakers. Come join this special event, ‘Celebrating the Journey‘ with African Road on May 4th as we mark 15 years of changemaking together.
You are part of the unique African Road story of community-led development, global friendship, and relational partnership. Together with the Changemakers, lasting transformation, and powerful progress and hope are realities.
What: Come celebrate friendship and partnership in person. Enjoy cultural dance, stories of community-led strength, growth and progress.
Raise your paddle to donate for even more powerful impact. Learn about the incredible vision for the future as we continue the journey together.
Event Schedule:
- 3:00-4:00 pm Tour Learning Stations, meet Changemakers, enjoy ample gourmet appetizers, sip wine, beer, and/or refreshing non-alcoholic drinks. Shop in the handcraft marketplace.
- 4:00-6:00 pm Exciting Anniversary Program & Paddle Raise: be inspired and encouraged by stories of Changemaker-led transformation in East Africa, move to thrilling drumming and dance performances, and contribute to a fun and impactful in-person paddle raise fundraiser, purchase raffle tickets for a free trip to Africa!
- 6:00-7:00 pm Savor delicious desserts, continue to enjoy gourmet appetizers, tour Learning Stations, shop and socialize, and complete your purchases at checkout.
Join this special Anniversary party and paddleraise:
- Purchase seating for 8 at a community-style table and host your friends; OR
- Register as an individual. You will be seated at a table with ‘new friends.’ Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, you can register as an individual at no cost to you. Save your support for the exciting paddle raise!
Registration in advance is essential and appreciated.

Enter this Gala Raffle for the Chance to Win an Incredible Trip to Rwanda, Burundi, and/or Tanzania
You could win an amazing two week African Road Learning Trip to East Africa. The lucky winner will experience stories that will change and encourage them through experiencing the beautiful green hills of Rwanda, warm culture of Tanzania, or drumming and dancing in Burundi. See and learn how incredible local leaders, in partnership with African Road, are impacting communities in East Africa. Top notch lodging, wonderful meals, and expert guidance are all included. $100 per ticket = a chance to win a place on an African Road Learning Trip team.
Only 250 tickets will be sold, and you must be in Oregon at the time of raffle ticket purchase. The drawing will take place during the Gala on Sunday, May 4th at approximately 5:30 pm. You do not need to be present at the Gala to win.
